Questions to Ponder....
1. What were your favorite 2 assignments in this class and why?
The two assignments I enjoyed most in this class was the digital storytelling and the podcast. I must admit I was completely overwhelmed and did not think I was going to survive or have a clue how to do the storytelling or podcast. The tutorials Mrs. Huett posted and class discussions made me fell at ease. These two assignements were fun and something my students would definitely enjoy doing in the classroom.
2. What are the top 3 technology tools you hope to use in your future classroom/position? (doesn't matter if they were addressed in this class; may include hardware or software)
The 3 technology tools I hope to use this school year are the digital storytelling, podcasting, and using wikispace.
3. What piece of technology would you like to get better at, and what are the steps you can take to improve your skills?
I would like to improve on using my delicious account more. At times, I forgot I had it. It really is a useful bookmarking database where I can easily access websites I won't to keep.

Blog 5 - DHMO Website

Dihydrogen Monoxide Research Division wrote the information.
2. What authority or special knowledge does the author have?
I believe the author has reviewed and studied background information to make him knowledgeable of the topic.
3. If the site is credited to an organization, what do you know about that organization?
The site is credited to an organization located in Newark, DE.
4. What bias or slant do you detect in the source?
Everything on the website was negative. There was nothing positive that was mentioned, therefore, the website was biased.
5. What does it say that indicates a bias?
It talked about controversy
6. Sould DHMO be banned? Why or why not?
DHMO should not be banned, because there are some positive attributes.

Blog 4 - Podcast Response
The energy podcast on Willow Web was a great project where the students collaborated and discussed information on energy.
One of the frequent problems with new educational innovations is their expense. Classroom teachers rarely have direct control over budgetary funds, and school resources for new purchases are always limited. In the case of podcasting, however, a microphone is the only piece of required hardware or software some classrooms may not have already that isn’t free.
Podcasts can provide a virtual “window” into schools, permitting a variety of interested parties to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues students are studying, the new things they are learning, and the evidences of learning (student projects) they are creating as a result of their work both at home and at school.

Blog 2 - Video on Martin Scorsese
This was a very interesting video on visual literacy. I believe that visual literacy is an important part of education. As a special education teacher, I have the challenge, as do all teachers to provide as much differentiated instruction as needed. Students come into the classroom with various needs and learning styles. One of Martin Scorsese views was the importance of showing and teaching children about film while they are young. Blog 3 - Video Analysis
On the video, "A journey through the rainforest," students were very informative of the digital story. I thought the visual presentations were colorful and engaging to any audience.
In the second video, I was reminded of my brother-in-law who is currently in the army. Last October he returned from Iraq after serving there for 15 months. When he left, his daugher (my niece) was 5 months old. Now my niece is almost 2 1/2 years old and my sister is pregnant now with a boy on the way due next month. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law is expected to leave again at the end of the year. It has been really tough on my sister.

Blog 1 Technology Perceptions
1. Who are you and what are you going to teach/do as a result of the degree you're currently seeking?
Hello, I have just finished my fourth year as a special education teacher. I have only taught math the last three years and teach 8th graders.
2. Why are you taking this class and how do you feel about that?
I am primarily taking this class because it is my last requirement in converting my provisional certificate to a clear-renewable.
3. What do teachers/others need to know about supporting learning with technology and why do they need to know it?
I feel it is important for teacher and others to know about supporting learning technology because we are in a world surrounded by technology. It is crucial that educators learn about all the latest technologies that are out there. Students love the world of technology, so it is a great way to keep the class fun and engaging.
4. What do you hope to get out of this class?
What I hope to geet out of this class is a vast amount of information that I never knew about. I would definitely like to learn more about digital storytelling, podcasting, and webpages, among others that I can take with me and utilize during the 2008-09 school year.

My strengths in using technology would only be power point presentations and publishing where you can create a variety of newsletters, flyers, etc. My weaknesses would be everything else that is related to technology. So I truly have a lot to learn.
